Interview with John Sechrest

October 6, 2009

Words of encouragement from one of the Valley’s champions – he is Innovational!

John is one of those most valued of community advocates – he talks the talk and walks the walk. He is an entrepreneur and innovator, a teacher and advisor and a indefatigable champion of all good things Corvallis and Benton County. Whether it’s designing early calculators at HP,  founding PEAK  Internet, teaching at OSU, helping with Da Vinci Days, leading the CORTOP Leggo Robotics Tournament, developing the Willamette Angel Conference, Software Association of Oregon leadership or serving as the Economic Development Director for Corvallis Benton Chamber Coalition and the many other important hats that John wears – he wears them well.

Jamie Saveriano, Innovational Musings’ intrepid reporter met with John on October 1 at the Chamber’s Corvallis office for this interview. John discusses his work and views on the history and future of innovation in the Willamette Valley.
