Corvallis GT Covers – WIN 2009

October 16, 2009

Mike McInally publisher of the Corvallis Gazette-Times previews the WIN 2009 event in his Oct. 9 blog.

The Corvallis event that used to be called High Tech After Hours has a new name and a broader focus, and some of the organizers of the revamped event, called “Willamette Innovators Night,” stopped by today to talk about it.

Willamette Innovators Night, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5 at Oregon State University, is designed to showcase the mid-valley’s most innovative companies and entrepreneurs — and to give all the participants a chance to meet, greet and learn from each other.

This year’s lineup includes a keynote speech from James Curleigh, the CEO of KEEN Footwear; a new exhibit about the history of innovation in the mid-valley (a pet project for Jerry Saveriano of Sanda Communications), displays from exhibitors, another in a continuing series of “Beer & Blog” events and the second go-round for “IGNITE! Corvallis,” in which participants have five minutes and 20 PowerPoint slides to make their point — whatever it happens to be. Full post…

The good folks at the GT have covered and supported mid-valley enterprises and citizens for 100 years. We are fortunate to have such a fine news publication and its people serving our region. They are a proud part of the history of innovation in the Valley.  Pick up a GT and take a look.
